UCircle Law Enforcement & Legal Request Guidelines
These guidelines explain how UCircle ("UCircle") handles requests from law enforcement and other authorities for user data, and requests to preserve or remove content. We aim to protect our users' rights while complying with the law.
1. Valid legal process
We require valid legal process appropriate to the request and jurisdiction. We review each request for legal sufficiency and may object to, narrow, or decline requests that are overbroad, vague, or not legally valid. Requests should identify the requesting authority, the legal basis, the specific user/account, and the data sought.
2. Where to send requests
Send law-enforcement and legal requests to info@ucircle.net. Include official letterhead/identification and a point of contact.
3. Emergency requests
In emergencies involving a risk of death or serious physical harm, we may expedite review and respond with information necessary to address the emergency, consistent with applicable law.
4. Data preservation
On a valid request, we may preserve relevant account records for a limited period pending receipt of valid legal process. We preserve and report child-safety (CSAE) evidence as described in our Child Safety Standards & Anti-CSAE Policy.
5. What data may be available
The information that may exist depends on the account and the Service's design. Some data is limited or transient by design (for example, calls relay live and are not stored; presence is ephemeral; UCircle does not hold payment-card data and is not end-to-end encrypted in V1). We provide only data we actually hold and that the valid request covers.
6. User notice
Where appropriate and not legally prohibited, we may notify the affected user of a request for their data so they can seek to protect their rights. We may delay or withhold notice where the law requires, or in emergencies or investigations where notice would be counterproductive.
7. Content removal requests
Requests from authorities to remove content are reviewed against applicable law and our Terms and Community Guidelines. We may remove content that is unlawful or violates our policies.
8. Transparency
We may report aggregate information about the requests we receive where appropriate.
9. Changes and contact
We may update these guidelines as the Service and the law evolve; we will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date. Legal requests: info@ucircle.net.
